Learning the mysteries of the proton with Artificial Intelligence

The humble proton is an extremely fascinating particle that continues to provide a steady stream of unexpected surprises. Protons are composed by quarks and gluons, which are bound together via the strong interactions. The proton holds a large number of mysteries such as understanding the mechanism that binds them together, the origin of its intrinsic rotation, and how its energy is shared between its components. Recently, a novel strategy to unveil the proton mysteries has been developed, inspired on Artificial Intelligence, making possible a unique understanding of the inner life of protons and improving our chances to discover new particles at the LHC.
